About me

I'm Carlo, also known as Wanted—or Wanted80 (when someone else got there first). I've been a programmer for more than 20 years. I was born in Pisa, Tuscany, Italy, and I still live there, just a stone's throw from the sea—which happens to be one of my greatest passions. I love walking and cycling, and I've always been fascinated by technology, hardware, programming, and just about anything nerdy you can think of.

About this blog

After many years of wanting to start a personal blog, I chose this particular moment—a time of great change in our society, in technology and computing, and far beyond. I've worked in tech for more than 20 years, and over the past year I've watched it enter what feels like a new golden age. Not the kind of “golden age” people sometimes invoke rather loosely, but a genuine revolution unlike anything we've seen before.

It was the arrival of AI, and the extraordinary speed at which it has evolved, that finally convinced me to build things I'd kept in a drawer for years but never had enough time outside work to complete.

I plan to use this personal space to share whatever crosses my mind—and it won't necessarily always be about technology or computing.

About Snippet

The first thing I set out to build was a static site generator written entirely in PHP, a language I've used extensively throughout my career and one that has improved tremendously over the years. I called it Snippet, after a very old project of mine that never came to life, and immediately used it to build this blog.

I could have used one of the countless tools already available in the open-source world, but as an experiment, I decided to build it entirely with AI without writing a single line of code myself. I simply told the agent what I wanted and what I needed—so you could say I had it tailor-made for me.

I wanted it to have no runtime dependencies—development tooling aside—and to rely only on what standard PHP provides.

I also gave it a few features that make it particularly AI-friendly. If you're curious, take a look at the public Snippet repository on GitHub.
